This is a very common question that I hear everyday. I can easily define what each term means but then it is going to be very hard for you to remember the role that each of the above titles will play in your business. First some background! The UAE runs on what is called a sponsorship system. What this means is that every person, every company, every business entity is finally tied down to one or more UAE Citizens. This UAE national is generally called a “sponsor.” For a wider definition of sponsor please read our FAQ titled: Who or What is a Sponsor? This “Sponsor” or “Dubai Sponsor” as they are called sometimes, tak e on a different role depending on the entity or transaction. For example; Entity:A Dubai Sponsor becomes a partner holding 51% shares or more in a Dubai LLC. A Dubai Sponsor becomes a National Service Agent with no shares (0% ownership) in a Dubai Professional License or a Branch of a Foreign Company. Transaction:A UAE National can be a sponsor who can sponsor a visit visa for you. Foreigners too can sponsor a visit visa, but then they are ultimately tied back to a UAE Sponsor either directly or through a company which is sponsored by a UAE Sponsor acting in the role of a Partner or a National Service Agent. For example, a foreign national is sponsored by a company which in turn is sponsored by a UAE National. If you would like to know if the license for your company qualifies for a Partner or a National Service Agent, please fill in our Obligation Free Online Questionnaire and we will reply with a detailed proposal.
